Ted's Bike Shop Cycle 40km (2 X 20km)

The cycle leg leaves transition and rides left onto Swan St. This is a stiff short rise, so riders should start in an appropriate gear. The course proceeds the length of Swan St. Riders have right of way at the bridge STOP sign. The bridge side of Swan St is closed to traffic until Robert St. The course then returns to roads that are open to resident traffic only. We will have traffic controllers in several locations to manage any local traffic and give riders right of way where required. Riders then turn right onto Edward St and proceeds onto Duckenfield Rd and then ride until a turn point just before Earles Rd and return to the intersection of McFarlanes Rd and turn left, then ride to the intersection of Raymond Terrace Rd and turn and return to the main street. At Roberts St riders will reenter the right hand side of Swan St and ride to a turn point in he main st. Once all laps have been completed riders return to the bike compound via Queens Wharf Rd. Note there are sections of the course that are no overtaking zones.

run 10km ( 4 X 2.5km)

The run leg leaves the bike compound and runs into Steamer St, which is an unused road just 50m from the compound that is partly gravel and partly grass. There is some uneven ground for the first 500m, so pay attention. There is plenty of even ground to run on. Where Steamer St meets Morpeth Rd runners will turn and return to the compound area and turn left to run along Queens Wharf Rd to a turn point and back to the compound. Complete the number of laps required. There are lap counter timing points at each lap.
